This mission led to the foundation of the Montreal Lyric Orchestra in Spring of 2014 by Simon Rivard and Ben Kepes. Both musicians are recent graduates of the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal and McGill University respectively, and are both very adaptable talents offering fresh points of view on the music they perform. The MLO presents concerts with versatile programming and a unique experience for the public in placing the sung voice as the centerpiece of the musical process.
The Flower of the Waters, the grand finale of the Montreal Lyric Orchestra’s inaugural season, brings you a seductive program of fin de siècle French music featuring internationally acclaimed French-Canadian mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne in works by Ravel and Chausson.
